Spend the rest of the day relaxing — unwind at the spa, pool, or in your elegant room overlooking the city or the Douro River.
In the evening, enjoy a welcoming dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant serving authentic local cuisine.
Day 2 – Oporto
Today is dedicated to tasting Northern Portugal’s most iconic flavors.
Start with your guide at Manteigaria nos Clérigos for a pastel de nata and espresso, then explore Bolhão Market, stroll along Santa Catarina Street, and stop for coffee or Port wine at Café Majestic.
Continue to Gazela Cervejaria to try their famous cachorrinhos, visit Santa Ildefonso Church, and enjoy a francesinha lunch at Brasão Aliados with Douro wine or a Super Bock.
In the afternoon, admire the azulejos at São Bento Station, cross the Dom Luís I Bridge, and explore the Ribeira district.
End the day with a private tour and tasting at Graham’s Port Wine Cellars, followed by dinner at Cantinho do Avillez.
Evening at Tivoli Kopke.
Day 3 – Monção e Melgaço
We begin the day with your guide, heading from Porto to Monção & Melgaço, birthplace of the Alvarinho grape.
Your first stop is Soalheiro Estate, a benchmark for Alvarinho wines. Enjoy a vineyard walk, learn about their sustainable methods, visit the cellar, and taste several wines guided by the winemaker.
Lunch follows at Quinta da Folga, a warm family-run estate in Alto Minho. Savor regional dishes paired with wines, including specialties made from the prized Bísaro pig.
In the afternoon, visit Anselmo Mendes Vinhos to meet one of Portugal’s most innovative winemakers, tour the facilities, and sample his acclaimed wines.
Return to Porto for dinner at the hotel, followed by an elegant evening gathering — a perfect celebration of your first full day immersed in Portuguese wine culture.
Evening at Tivoli Kopke.
Day 4 – Amarante & Douro Valley
Pick-up and transfer to Amarante, starting the day at the Monverde Wine Experience, part of Quinta da Lixa. Enjoy a guided tour of the estate and an immersive visit to the Sensory Room, designed to awaken your senses.
The highlight is a bottle blending workshop, where you’ll taste different grape varieties, choose your favorites, and create your own personalized wine — blending, bottling, corking, and labeling your unique keepsake.
Lunch follows at the estate’s restaurant: a seasonal four-course tasting menu pairing northern Portuguese flavors with Monverde wines.
In the afternoon, enjoy an optional visit to Amarante’s historic sites — the stone bridge, São Gonçalo Church, and charming pastry shops — before heading to your Douro hotel for check-in and relaxation.
Evening at Hotel São José do Barrilário 5 stars.
Day 5 – Douro Valley
Late morning, you’ll be picked up from the hotel and transferred to Bagaúste Pier for a private boat cruise to Quinta Nova. Enjoy stunning views of the Douro Valley’s terraced vineyards along the way before disembarking at the estate’s private pier.
At Quinta Nova’s Terraçus Restaurant, savor a three-course wine-paired lunch overlooking the vineyards. Then, take a guided tour of the historic winery, barrel room, and private chapel, followed by a tasting of premium wines.
As the afternoon fades, a sunset cruise from Ferrão to the DOC Restaurant pier awaits, featuring an open bar and the traditional fire-opening of a Vintage Port bottle — a truly memorable experience.
The day concludes with a wine-pairing dinner at DOC, Chef Rui Paula’s acclaimed riverside restaurant, where modern Portuguese cuisine is perfectly matched with local wines. After dinner, return to the hotel.
Evening at Hotel São José do Barrilário.
Day 6 – Douro Valley
The day begins with a transfer to Quinta do Bomfim in Pinhão, an iconic estate at the heart of the Alto Douro. Owned by the Symington family for five generations, it is famed for producing world-class Ports, including Dow’s Vintage Ports. Enjoy a private tour and tasting that showcase the estate’s rich heritage.
Lunch follows at Cozinha da Clara, where regional flavors are reimagined in elegant dishes paired with Douro wines, all enjoyed with stunning valley views. Afterward, return to the hotel for some time to relax.
In the late afternoon, visit H.O. Wines, a boutique winery known for its rare, small-production labels, and enjoy a guided tasting.
End the day with a sunset rooftop dinner at H.O. Winery — a relaxed, celebratory farewell featuring exquisite wines and breathtaking views, capturing the true essence of the Douro.
Evening at Hotel São José do Barrilário.
Day 7 – Departure Day
After breakfast and check-out, a private transfer will take you from your hotel in the Douro to Porto Airport.
